It is the same length as the text and the width is about a third of that. A thin black line cuts through the image horizontally, splitting it into two equal halves. In the centre to right side of the ornament there is the silhouette of a city. On the outskirts there are shadows, or perhaps low rolling hills, which lead up to the first low buildings. The closer to the middle of the silhouette, the taller the buildings, so that near the middle of the image stands one thin building towering over the others. The city could be placed on a large hill, or it could be tiered. The rest if the image is blank apart from the signature “William T. Horton” in the bottom left corner.
