An angel or winged figure stands facing forwards with his head turned in right profile. He has a dark face, and his skin or garment appears to be dark and patterned with white hearts or scales. The angel has long hair which wisps across his forehead, one small horn protruding from his head, and two large wings of dark feathers at each side of his body. He is wearing a strap across his upper chest which knots above his left hip, and a belt of circular shaped fabric. The angel’s left arm is tucked slightly behind his body and in his left hand; he is holding a white bow, which appears out from behind his right leg. His left arm is extended and is positioned downwards, diagonally across his upper body. His left hand is placed on the edge of an arrow as if he is about to draw it. The tip of the arrow is flaming and pointed downwards towards the bottom right region of the ornament. The angel appears to be standing or kneeling on a pedestal, pillar, or on the edge of a structure. His left leg is not visible, and his right leg appears to be kneeling. His bare foot is tucked behind his right leg. At the base of the pedestal is a flaming severed head oriented upside-down as if it is falling. Flames engulf the head and extend upwards, surrounding the pedestal and reaching the upper right corner of the ornament. At the top of the ornament there appears to be a banner or cartouche oriented behind the angel’s head engraved with an inverted question mark. At the bottom of the ornament in the extreme left, the artist's initials “CR” are engraved in caps in a small white box with a single black-lined border. In the left region of the ornament, a centaur is depicted in right profile facing forward. He is resting on the ground alongside a pond or pool in a garden. His eyes are open wide, and his mouth is agape. The centaur has long hair which protrudes from the top of his head and extends down his back, a long tail, and interlaced garland around his body. The lower half of the centaur’s body is muscular and large. His four legs are bent and tucked closely beside his body. The upper half of his body is propped up on a thick branch which appears to be extending from the pond. The centaur’s left arm is tucked around his neck to support his reclining body and resting head, and his right arm is bent beside him also to support his head. In the right region of the image, there is an unclothed woman lying down on a brick pedestal decorated with a butterfly. She is in left profile, but her body is facing upwards and her head is tilted far back. Her long dark hair falls behind her and gathers at the base of the pedestal. A white rabbit’s head is peeking out from behind the fallen hair. The woman’s right arm, which is decorated with ivy, is bent behind her and appears to be reaching into her hair. Her left arm is cradling a tipped pitcher or urn, which is spilling water into the pond in the centre of the ornament. There is a bird making small waves in the pond. Petals and tree stumps are scattered in the background of the image. Thick interlacing and swirling branches surround the outer regions of the ornament.
