The fish on the left is jumping upward to the left, while the one on the right is jumping downward to the left. A triple black-line interlaced ribbon wraps around the figure's waist, extending to roughly the same length as her arms; the inner-most section of the ribbon is filled in with black ink, and gives the appearance of the figure being in water, with the fish jumping in and out of the waves.
