    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[Initial letter A is capitalized. The letter is framed within a double-lined square. The letter is white on a black background, the background is studded with white dots. The top of the letter is notched. The letter is composed of two straight vertical lines that meet at a sixty degree angle at the top. The right line is twice the width of the left; both have flared bases. The two lines are joined by a horizontal line two thirds of the way up. A grotesque face with a bald head, visible only from the neck up, rests under the horizontal bar of the letter. A symmetrical leaf covers where the figure’s torso would typically be. The figure has thin leaves draped over their temples. This ornament, dating back to classical times, is known as a “foliated cherub” or “foliated grotesque.” There are leaves, flowers, and vines behind the initial letter and spread out throughout the innermost box of the square.]]></dcterms:description>

The right side of the letter is made from two hooked arches that loop to meet in the middle. They are widest at the peak of the arch. There are leaves, flowers, and vines behind the initial letter and spread out throughout the innermost box of the square. A grotesque face in profile facing right extrudes from a foliated arabesque in the upper right quadrant. This ornament, dating back to classical times, is known as a  “foliated grotesque.”<br />

Foliated Grotesque]]></dcterms:subject>
    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[Initial letter F is capitalized. The letter is framed within a double-lined square. The letter is white on a black background, the background is studded with white dots. The letter Is composed of one vertical line on the left side and two horizontal lines extending to the right from it. The vertical line is thicker and flares out at the bottom, it flares out at the top as well but only on the left side. The first horizontal line extends out from the top of the letter, it hooks downwards at its right end. It is the thinner than the vertical line. The other horizontal line is halfway down the letter. It is the same thickness as the first horizontal line, and it flares out in both directions vertically. There are leaves, flowers, and vines behind the initial letter and spread out throughout the innermost box of the square. A grotesque head, emerging from a foliated arabesque, faces right in profile in the upper quadrant. This ornament, dating back to classical times, is known as a  “foliated grotesque.”]]></dcterms:description>

    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[Initial letter H is capitalized. The letter is framed within a double-lined square. The letter is white on a black background, the background is studded with white dots. The letter Is composed of two vertical lines on the left and right and one horizontal line connecting them. The vertical lines are thicker and flare out at both ends. The horizontal line is about one third the width of the vertical lines. Behind the letter stands an ornate chalice or urn. The bowl of the chalice rests above the horizontal line of the initial letter, and at its base it is wreathed in petals. The stem of the chalice is straight and stands below the horizontal line of the initial letter. it has a three-tiered base and below this there is ornate direction spun in a clockwise pattern and mirrored on both sides. A similar design is found above the chalice. There are leaves, flowers, and vines behind the initial letter and spread out throughout the innermost box of the square.]]></dcterms:description>
