Description An account of the resource The open headpiece, centred on the top of the page and running the width of the letterpress, features an anthropomorphic figure with outstretched wings. The centre of the headpiece shows a perfectly round face. The short, stylized body is in the form of a Celtic cross. It is filled with black ink, except for interlaced ribbon knotwork. Twoturned out fee feet extend from the body at the bottom of the ornament. The largest portion of the headpiece is formed by two wings that extend out from either side of the body. The outer part of each wing features symmetrical black lines, while the inner part of each wing shows small shapes filled with black ink that give the appearance of feathers.
