The ornament features a large mythical creature, likely a dragon, that stretches across the entire image. The dragon is moving toward the left, but its head is turned backward to face a human figure with long, light hair and a pointed beard sitting on its back, and shown in profile. His left hand is held down and is resting on the beast, but his right hand is raised above his head and is holding a sword. The beast’s mouth is open, showing pointed teeth. In front of the beast on the far left another male figure with long, dark hair and a pointed beard sits between the dragon’s front feet. His right arm is stretched out so that his palm rests on the beast, as if pushing it away. Various patterns of stripes and circles decorate the beast’s body.
