Description An account of the resource The open anthropomorphic headpiece is centred on the top of the page and runs the width of the letterpress. At the centre of the ornament is a human face, facing front, resting chin on interlaced hands, with elbows extended to the edge of the ornament. The figure’s hair splits into two sections on either side of the face, coming down from the top of the head, and ending in a slight curve at the bottom of the ornament. On either side of the face there are interlacing ribbons that form a knot under each arm. Wings extend from either side of the face. Each wing is separated into three sections and filled with a pattern that appears to be feathers or leaves.
