The ornament shows a kneeling human figure in profile, facing the right side of the page. The figure has long hair that reaches from the top centre of the ornament to the bottom left; the hair ends in multiple spirals that reach the figure’s feet. The figure’s hands are reaching out to hold a long-necked bird, a stylized swan, whose body is formed of interlacing ribbons forming a large knot. As the bird is shown in profile, only one wing can be seen. This wing extends back and reaches the leg of the human figure.
